Jelly Cubes

We teamed up with Hypercell to create a new Jelly game, leveraging our studio's extensive experience with jelly physics to deliver a fun, optimized experience. Our concept was straightforward: similar to Chain Cube but with a fresh camera perspective and engaging jelly mechanics. After just three days of brainstorming, we kicked off the development of our first prototype.

First prototype Development

Our initial version took 2 weeks to develop. We conducted tests and were thrilled with the early metrics, prompting us to dive into iterations right away.

Iterations and meta

We explored various features, including leaderboards, roulette, daily tasks, and highscore / level-based gameplay, different physics. The most significant boosts in metrics came from refining our core gameplay, enhancing the leaderboard, and improving the tutorial and lock indications. After 4 months of iterations, we were ready for a soft launch.

Soft-launch

With a well-balanced core gameplay and polished meta features, we moved into the soft launch phase. Our focus was on improving retention rates (D7, D30) and reducing cost per install (CPI). We created 8 different creative packs and made substantial improvements, adding combo animations, lock animations, and pop-ups.

Conclusion

Currently, our game generates around $2,000 a month passively, despite a competitive market. We've gained invaluable experience in metrics analysis and have established a robust development pipeline to optimize our feature development according to our roadmap. Looking ahead, we aim to focus on innovative ideas and consider CPI optimization right from the ideation stage.
